We are now down to our final eight ships.  To all of you who sent the lovely messages explaining why you ship, thank you so much.  They were wonderful to read.  And also thank you for taking this bracket in the good faith and fun it is intended.  You can read the updated bracket to the left, and I will be posting the polls later this evening.  Honestly, after the last 24 hours I am exhausted.

Canon Conference Championship: Rose/Ten (Doctor Who) vs Romione (Harry Potter)

Ongoing Conference Championship: Swan Queen (Once Upon A Time) vs Sterek (Teen Wolf)

Old School Conference Championship: Fabrerry (Glee) vs Kirk/Spock (Star Trek)

Fan Nominated Conference Championship: Drarry (Harry Potter) vs Ichabbie (Sleepy Hollow)

As we have received some less than friendly responses to our TEMPORARY closure of the SwanQueen vs Stucky poll, we have to make a request of you.  Please be civil to one another.  The poll was not closed because of fan complaints of any sort.  We simply received a notification of illegal activity and crunched some numbers ourselves that showed us an aberration in the voting patterns.  We brought the poll to a temporary halt in order to sort things out and determine how to proceed.  So please refrain from throwing hate towards anyone via our website.  It will not be tolerated.

The Band: This Century

The Song: "Soul Sucker"

The Link: https://soundcloud.com/thiscentury/soul-sucker/s-uj8eE

Where you heard it first: Last week when I pre-ordered this amazing band's new album "Soul Sucker".  This title track was a digital download that came with the purchase and it's awesome!  Every time This Century comes out with another new album, I'm always excited to see what they have in store for us.

Why it’s been stuck in your head:
I am kind of obsessed with the great music that this band always seems to release and this song is no different.  The boys of This Century seem to consistently produce music that is catchy, bouncy, and immediately gets stuck in your head.  I can't help but dance around in my car on my commute and pretend to sing along like I already know all the lyrics.  This song makes me excited for what the rest of this album is going to be like.

Why you recommend it to our listeners:
When you listen to this song, whether you're in your car, at the office, at the gym, or wherever, you can't help but move around a little bit.  If you need a little pick-me-up during the day, give this song a listen and it's sure to put a smile on your face.

Ship Bracket - The Sweet Sixteen

EDIT: Despite recent events, we really do want to create a situation that is best for everyone. We think this is it: we are restarting the Swan Queen vs Stucky poll. It will begin at 9AM PDT and end at the previously assigned time of 3PM PDT. The votes received from your constructive comments below will still count. It will be set to limit voting in the same way as previous rounds to prevent another lockdown from happening. Best of luck to both fandoms.

NOTICE & A Note From Your ALNM Hosts:
This is NOT about people tattling or voting one too many times. We received a notification from our service provider and it caused the poll to be locked automatically. To clarify for you guys, we did not receive this notification in any other round of voting so far.  As someone who ships neither Stucky nor SwanQueen, we are currently working together and discussing the FAIREST way to proceed. We appreciate your love of your fandoms and your dedication to this ship bracket.  Our hope is that the outcome is as fair as possible

We're down to few enough ship battles that we can put them all in one handy post!  That also means it's about to get real.  You want to hear us talk about all our ships and the ship bracket?  Download our last episode here!

Polls close Apr 21 at 3:00 PM PDT

Remember, you can comment below with a link to your favorite fanfic/fanart or why you ship your ships for extra votes!  I want to give a shout out to the shippers who did last round, especially those amazing posts for Rose/Ten and Skyeward.  You'll see your comments appear again later post-bracket.

VOTE!  And remember, you can vote more than once this time...within reason ;)

Let’s go back to: Star Wars!!!
Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) tells the story of a young boy named Luke Skywalker who joins forces with a Jedi Knight, a pilot and his furry co-pilot, and two droids to rescue a princess and save the universe from the clutches of the evil Empire controlled by the villain Darth Vader.  The series continued with The Empire Strikes Back  (1980), The Return of the Jedi (1983), The Phantom Menace (1999), The Attack of the Clones (2002), and The Revenge of the Sith (2005).  J.J. Abrams is bringing this amazing franchise back to life this year with a brand-new installment The Force Awakens due in theatres December 18, 2015.

Why it means something to you or to our podcast:
How could it not mean something to us?  Here at ALNM, both of us LOVE this franchise and as it continues to expand, we hope that it will just get better and better.  Star Wars was the first experience I ever had in any sort of fandom community, having watched the movie with my dad at the age of six.  Since then, I've been to three midnight release shows, dressed up as a Jedi, Princess Leia, and Han Solo on more than one occasion, and TONIGHT I'm going to Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim!  There are not enough good things to sat about this amazing franchise.  It not only is a story that can be loved by all ages, but its special effects were far beyond its time and forever split the fandom community into Trekkies and Jedi.  With the release of the new movie a mere seven months away, fans are more excited than ever and are anxiously awaiting the newest chapter in the Star Wars saga.

Where can you find it now?
Last week, the digital collection of the films were released on iTunes and Amazon and the movies can be found wherever movies are sold!  It might take you some time to find the original VHS tapes, though.
