Welcome, everyone, to our first installment of Teen Wolf Wednesdays with our special correspondent Ryan. You may all remember him from Episode 30 of the podcast entitled "Help Me, ALNM! You're My Only Hope!" and now Ryan will be writing a regular column all about Teen Wolf episodes this season. He and his wife, Maria, worked tirelessly to catch up on all FOUR seasons of the show in order to participate in ALNM's love of Teen Wolf (despite having two adorable kids who undoubtedly keep them on their toes). And so, we present to you, Teen Wolf Wednesday! The Dread Doctors!! Another Kanima!!!! I’ll admit…I’m very excited about the first three episodes of Season 5. Apparently the new villains in town are known as The Dread Doctors. These guys use a mix of science and the supernatural for an evil purpose; they can make Werewolves and Kanimas from what show creator, Jeff Davis has shown us. Personally, I dig the creepy villains. I’m still haunted by the Nogitsune from Season 3. This new season starts out with Senior Year and Stiles (Dylan O’ Brien) is having a hard time thinking of graduation and leaving his friends. Some mutant werewolf with blue translucent claws is on the hunt for Scott and it seems that Lydia is locked away at Eichen House with episode one beginning and ending with scenes of her at the mental facility saying that all her friends are going to die. Scott has an old friend from 4th grade named Theo show up to Beacon Hills looking for a pack with an Alpha like Scott. Turns out that Theo is a werewolf too. Theo helps Scott defeat the mutant werewolf who ends up running away and returning to some creepy building where we get our first look at the Dread Doctors. Episode 2 introduces us to Tracy who has hallucinations of the Dread Doctors. She ends up being captured and injected with a serum that turns her into a werewolf or so we think. Stiles, always being his suspicions self, is suspect of Theo’s true intentions. I have a feeling we are in store for a series of unforgettable events that will call upon Scott and his pack to face another fierce enemy. Even Deaton is thrown off on what this villain could be. Alas…episode 3 brought back the Kanima. It turns out that Tracy is a Kanima not a werewolf and as all Kanima’s must do, she goes on a killing spree through Beacon Hills killing her father and psychiatrist. Tracy attacks Scott, Stiles, Deaton and Malia at Deaton’s Pet hospital. Due to the paralyzing nature of Kanima saliva everyone is paralyzed. Malia is the only one that can overcome the paralysis the quickest and she goes after Tracy. Kira finds her first and uses her Kitsune powers to cut off Tracy’s tale injuring her. Tracy finds herself in the basement of the police station when out of nowhere the Doctors appear and kill Tracy. Malia was left alive to witness the whole thing. Who are the Dread Doctors? Where did they come from? How can we bring them down and where the hell is Derek? Bring on Episode 4… and as Jackson once said, who by the way might be coming back to the show, “Where do you get your juice?” -- Ryan
The Artist: Christina Perri
The Song: "Forever Young" Where you heard it first: I first heard this song last night at the World of Color show at Disneyland. I could immediately recognize her distinctive voice over the videos showing the history of the theme park. It was a touching moment. Why it’s been stuck in your head: I already adore Christina Perri, and combining her with Disneyland is the perfect earworm combination. Why you recommend it to our listeners: Like my cohost said last week, the Disneyland 60th Anniversary celebration is a sight to behold. If you get the opportunity to check it out, I definitely would. The nighttime shows in particular will get the emotions going if you have any attachment to Disney or Disneyland. I can't find the studio version of the song at the moment, but you can get a taste of it below.
Let’s go back to: "An Immigrant's Tale"
Why it means something to you or to our podcast: While this skit is relatively new in terms of Saturday Night Live skits (circa 2003), this has definitely become a classic skit. At the time, no one really knew that Justin Timberlake could be funny. He was just a pretty boy who sang with *NSync and had gone solo and then he hosted SNL and everyone's view of him changed. Here at ALNM both of us love Justin Timberlake -- especially when he hosts Saturday Night Live. His friendship with Andy Samberg only makes his appearances better. Check out "D**k in a Box" for some more Timberlake/Samberg fun. Where can you find it now?: You may have heard of Justin Timberlake since 2004. Perhaps his great grandfather's dream has come true! The same goes for Andy Samberg. In all seriousness, though, you can catch Andy Samberg as Jake Peralta on Brooklyn Nine-Nine when it returns to FOX this fall. Although Justin Timberlake has taken some time off after the birth of his son with his wife, Jessica Biel, make sure you keep an eye out for what he comes up with next. He always amazes us.

Be sure to join us for our 32nd episode all about the newest season of Teen Wolf! This week’s featured music: "Live in Living Color" by Aaron Tveit from the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Catch Me If You Can "Video Killed the Radio Star" by The Buggles The Artist: Owl City The Song: "When Can I See You Again?" Where you heard it first: It's the song played during the new Paint the Night Electrical Parade at Disneyland for the 60th Anniversary! I've seen the parade three times since it started in late May and it took me until this last viewing to finally go online and find this song. The song was originally written for the Disney movie Wreck-It Ralph and is now mixed with the original Electrical Light Parade music for the Paint the Night parade. Why it’s been stuck in your head: Let's put it this way: I don't even like Owl City very much and this song has been stuck in my head since the first time I heard it with the parade. It's so catchy and fun that it's impossible not to dance along to it while watching the nighttime show at Disneyland Resort. Why you recommend it to our listeners: First of all, I recommend that everyone check out Disneyland's 60th Anniversary if you're able. As a Disney nerd and a Southern Californian, it is absolutely amazing to experience. They have truly pulled out all the stops for this occasion. I recommend that everyone stay to watch the Paint the Night Parade, one of the coolest things that Disneyland has ever pulled off. Borrowed from Disneyland Hong Kong for the anniversary, the parade has really stepped up its game from the original Electrical Light Parade. Listen to the song below and make sure to check out the parade if you can! -- Kelly Lee ![]() What program/tools do you use? I use a Wacom Bamboo Create tablet and a few different drawing programs. I’ve been getting used to Photoshop for the past few months and I really love it. Before that I’ve always used Paint Tool SAI. Lately I’ve been getting used to using a combination of tools from both though. Where do you get your inspiration? Lately I get it from almost anything. I’ll see an interesting person or place and be inspired and make up a story for them or it. I also draw a lot of inspiration from ideas and concepts that I find on tumblr or other places on the Internet. What are your primary fandoms? Although I don’t draw it as much anymore, the Percy Jackson fandom is probably my main fandom. But I’m also a part of the Harry Potter and Legend of Zelda and Steven Universe fandoms. I’ve also drawn fanart for the tiny Underland fandom as well. What project have you always wanted to do? I’ve always wanted to work on longer animated pieces, even if they’re just a few minutes long. At this point I’d really love to do something for the Percy Jackson or The Underland characters. I’d love to animate or collaborate on making a scene from the books and making it all finalized. What is your favorite work? I really couldn’t say at this point. I’m usually most proud of my animations, but I usually stop working on those at some point so I never actually finish them. However, I am proud of the concept I’ve come up with recently, “Beverly Starcatcher,” that I invented while working on my portfolio. I made a little gif of her hopping across the watery floor of a cave and I’m pretty pleased with how that turned out so I suppose that it my favorite for now. What is one thing fandom doesn’t know about you? There’s nothing really that the Percy Jackson fandom doesn’t know, so I’m going to go with the Harry Potter fandom; I’ve never actually read the books. I’ve listened to the audiobooks enough times to nearly have memorized the series, so I know the story of it very well, but I’ve never physically read the books. Hi everyone! Sorry we've been a little quiet lately, but we've been preparing for our trip to San Diego next week! We'll have more information for you all shortly!
