Find five of our favorite Comic Con trailers from this year below:
Special mention to Avengers: Infinity War. Hey Marvel, release the trailer online already!
We've been to Comic Con three years in a row now, so I think we can safely say we've decided on some of our favorite places to eat and drink. Here are some of our favorites in no particular order:
Location: 1195 Island Ave, San Diego
Bottega Americano has become our traditional final dinner for SDCC. It's great Italian food (including pizza, pasta, salads, and a great wine list) along with some great desserts. Be sure to check out their tiramisu.
Location: 777 G St, San Diego
This awesome hidden speakeasy is another ALNM favorite. Be sure to make a reservation a week ahead of time, because Comic Con week will be especially crowded. It's also got a basic dress code (no flip flops or ball caps). But the drinks are so worth the effort. You can order off the menu, or go with the "Dealer's Choice" where they'll make you a custom made drink based off your favorite spirits and flavors. They can also make some great mocktails for the non-drinkers.
Location: 675 W Beech St, San Diego
False Idol is a hidden bar we tried for the first time this trip. It's tiki themed and a bit more boisterous than Noble Experiment. If you like fruity drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), this is a fun evening.
Sammy's Woodfired Pizza & Grill
Location: 12925 El Camino Real, San Diego
A trip up to the Del Mar Highlands Town Center is an annual tradition with ALNM. Our favorite is the Burrata & Pesto Woodfired Pizza. But they've also got great soups, salads, shareable dishes.
Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas Del Mar
Location: 12905 El Camino Real, San Diego
After a meal at Sammy's, we head next door to Cinépolis to catch the latest summer blockbuster. Last year we saw Star Trek Beyond, and this year we saw Spider-Man: Homecoming. The great thing about this theater are the luxury reclining seats and the full bar and menu with in seat waiter service. Watch your favorite movie along with a margarita and mozzarella sticks!
We cannot emphasize enough that you should take advantage of the things available to you as a hotel guest. Grab a quick breakfast downstairs in the morning before heading over the the convention center. If you're tired after a long day, pick up the phone and order some room service. Sometimes all you need to recharge is a night in with your friends while eating dinner in your pajamas.
Did everyone have a great Comic Con week? We here at ALNM sure did, and we've got a bunch of fun stuff coming your way starting tonight! Including the completion of our rebranding project!
You may have noticed our updated website, featuring brand new custom artwork from Caroline Layne. Check out her website carolinelayne.com to learn more about her work. Can you find your favorite characters attending Comic Con? Thanks Caroline!
We also hope to have a lot original articles heading your way this year, in addition to our reformatted podcast style that will be coming your way next month. In the meantime we'll be having a bunch of Comic Con themed articles being posted and a pre-recorded podcast episode to finish out the month of July.
