by Christina We've been to Comic Con three years in a row now, so I think we can safely say we've decided on some of our favorite places to eat and drink. Here are some of our favorites in no particular order: Bottega AmericanoWebsite: http://www.bottegaamericano.com/ Location: 1195 Island Ave, San Diego Bottega Americano has become our traditional final dinner for SDCC. It's great Italian food (including pizza, pasta, salads, and a great wine list) along with some great desserts. Be sure to check out their tiramisu. Noble ExperimentWebsite: http://www.nobleexperimentsd.com/ Location: 777 G St, San Diego This awesome hidden speakeasy is another ALNM favorite. Be sure to make a reservation a week ahead of time, because Comic Con week will be especially crowded. It's also got a basic dress code (no flip flops or ball caps). But the drinks are so worth the effort. You can order off the menu, or go with the "Dealer's Choice" where they'll make you a custom made drink based off your favorite spirits and flavors. They can also make some great mocktails for the non-drinkers. False IdolWebsite: http://www.falseidoltiki.com/ Location: 675 W Beech St, San Diego False Idol is a hidden bar we tried for the first time this trip. It's tiki themed and a bit more boisterous than Noble Experiment. If you like fruity drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), this is a fun evening. Sammy's Woodfired Pizza & GrillWebsite: http://www.sammyspizza.com/ Location: 12925 El Camino Real, San Diego A trip up to the Del Mar Highlands Town Center is an annual tradition with ALNM. Our favorite is the Burrata & Pesto Woodfired Pizza. But they've also got great soups, salads, shareable dishes. Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas Del MarWebsite: http://www.cinepolisusa.com/del-mar.aspx Location: 12905 El Camino Real, San Diego After a meal at Sammy's, we head next door to Cinépolis to catch the latest summer blockbuster. Last year we saw Star Trek Beyond, and this year we saw Spider-Man: Homecoming. The great thing about this theater are the luxury reclining seats and the full bar and menu with in seat waiter service. Watch your favorite movie along with a margarita and mozzarella sticks! Your HotelWe cannot emphasize enough that you should take advantage of the things available to you as a hotel guest. Grab a quick breakfast downstairs in the morning before heading over the the convention center. If you're tired after a long day, pick up the phone and order some room service. Sometimes all you need to recharge is a night in with your friends while eating dinner in your pajamas.
