Ship Bracket 2020 - Wild Card Re-entry

After evaluating the previous rounds, the ships that are up for re-entry into the Ship Bracket due to suspicious voting are:
  • Lapidot (Steven Universe)
  • Reylo (Star Wars)
  • Marrish (Teen Wolf)
  • Stucky (Marvel)

Now, these suspicious votes aren't as straightforward as the ones that brought the whole situation to our attention.  That's probably why none of us noticed.  But that also means I can be pretty sure they're fraudulent, but not 100%.  This is why I'm doing a wild card vote in rather than a straightforward change to the Final Four.

This is how we'll proceed:
  • Polls close at 9PM PT on April 15th.
  • If Lapidot, Reylo, or Stucky win, they will be included in the Final Four head to head between Karamel and Kylux (because that's where they would be in the bracket if they had won previous polls)
  • If Marrish wins, it will be included in the Final Four head to head between Destiel and Sanvers

If you have any suggestions, I am definitely open to them.  Please leave in the comments below and we can discuss.  FYI, it looks like fraudulent voting began in the second round and really picked up steam in the Sweet Sixteen.  Aside from the ships above, fraudulent votes for both winning and losing ships that did not impact the final outcome of a poll were found.  I know what I'm looking for now though, so no need to worry about that happening this round.  I'll just delete fraudulent votes that couldn't be achieved via conventional means as they appear :)

Have fun everyone!

i'm not sure if I understand it all, but in final 4 will be 6 ships? or 5? because I don't see sanvers/diesel and karamel/kylux polls

I know, it’s confusing for me too. But Sanvers v Destiel and Karamel v Kylux will take place after this wild card vote. The winner of this wild card will be added to its respective poll, meaning we will have a “Final Five” before the championship.

Did I overvote or is there some problem with the bracket? I’ve been frozen out twice, and I’ve been leaving at least 2 minutes between my batch of 25 votes.

Is that the right time between votes?

I thought it was only 20 seconds? Have I been voting wrong all this time?

And now I’m frozen out a third time. And yet again it only happened after the Lapidot votes started moving again.

🤨🤨😠

4/12/2020 04:14:57 am

I’m obviously doing something wrong, because the bracket froze for me for a fourth time. Oh well 😔

Brienne of Tarth
4/11/2020 03:10:28 am

@Bella68

Lapidot got 250, 660, and 100 in the previous rounds. And their highest vote count was 827 in round two last year, when they lost to Clintasha.

Now they have 6325 votes.. 🧐🤔🤥🤦

And now Lapidot is 7500. This is Sanvers levels of legit. 🤦‍♀️🤦🤦‍♂️🙄

Brienne of Tarth
4/11/2020 10:56:20 am

Huh.

10 000 votes for lapidot, who previously didn’t even get 1000 votes. That’s not even remotely suspicious.

No, reallly. 🤪

sweet cheeses!!
4/11/2020 11:31:21 am

If Sanvers want to tactical vote, that’s fine. But the voting For lapidot is going up reeeallly fast. Almost inhumanly so at times.

If Stucky was winning by that margin or Reylo, it would be more believable.

More “ wind assisted” voting , like happened against Braime last year.

Reply
Bella68
4/13/2020 01:31:47 am

And now they’re almost 30 000 votes. It’s gotta be Sanvers.

And I got frozen out twice more today. I was counting my votes and hadn’t voted more than 22 votes or 23 when the bracket froze for me again ! 😡

If Lapidot goes out with only 60 votes in the next round, I’m not even going to be surprised.

Time to vote Stucky, and start waking up the Destiel shippers for the next round 🤨😉

Bella68
4/13/2020 01:33:59 am

And why does the bracket give me the “Thank you for voting” message when it won’t actually let me vote? 🤔

Hi everyone,

First: I haven't seen anything to indicate the poll has been frozen at any point.

Second: If I ever find clear evidence of vote tampering, I will remove those votes immediately.

Third: I don't see the clear signs of tampering now that I corrected in the previous rounds. There are some things that I find odd that I'm keeping an eye on, but no definitive proof that would lead me to delete any votes at this point. Strategic voting has taken place on this bracket since the beginning. While it takes some of the fun out of it but there's really nothing that can be done besides vote just as hard for your ships. But I promise I'm keeping an eye out for tampering

Fourth: Happy Easter weekend and I hope everyone is staying safe, happy, and healthy.

Or do you have black hat.com on speed dial?

And the following year they lost but only just to sterek again. But Destiel got over 914 000 votes!

But 53 000 is pretty good. Not as good as 914 000 🤣🤣🤣

I can’t wait for the final four!! 😆

ahh so not only 4 times but also all Sanvers rounds last and this year ;( sad, i'm really sorry.
anyways, please keep going! you always made our day with all those comments and excuses why you lost this time. I mean you can come up with something new than frozen polls or some magic hats but it's funny too, thank you.
also, good move with different nicks, still only a few and I'm waiting for more but I understand that you can have a hard time pretending to be someone else.
BUT the best part was during forst round and "According to their own twitter accounts..." OH MY GOD I spilt my coffee when I saw this :D what a beautiful mind, have you thought about it for a long time? maybe you want to share a few @ to let us read it too? I'm sure you can do it ;)

anyways it was nice convo with you and like I said, please keep going. I expect more comments in the next rounds to have something to laugh about. and i'm sorry i'm not gonna reply, anymore, I have better things to do. like ... voting lol.
SEE YA!

@ EmilieVitnux ( or whatever the fuck you call yourself this year)

Only a few rounds last year, when it was obvious you were going to win the tournament. I hope you remembered to thank your pals at black hat.com and buycontestvotes.com.

Oh sure sweetie, you’re a whole group of people all living in the same house and with the same isp.

Sure Jan.

Sure, I’m sure it was a fake emelie claiming that on her fake twitter account.

We believe you!

Should we hand the 🏆 over now just to save some time, or should we wait until you’ve p̶a̶i̶d̶ ̶b̶l̶a̶c̶k̶ ̶h̶a̶t̶.c̶o̶m̶. finished?

Oh well, we knew we were going to get crushed here. But I must admit I thought it would be Stucky that did that.

Anyway, new recipe for those feeling hungry.

Lemon Pancakes

PREP TIME:
15 Minutes
DIFFICULTY:
Easy
COOK TIME:
15 Minutes
SERVINGS:
4 Servings

INGREDIENTS
2 whole Lemons
2-1/4 cups 2%% Milk
1 Tablespoon Vanilla
3 cups Flour
1/4 cup Sugar
2 Tablespoons Baking Powder
1/4 teaspoon Salt
2 whole Eggs, Beaten
1/4 cup Butter, Melted

INSTRUCTIONS
Zest both lemons. Set aside. Measure the milk and add the juice of 1 1/2 of the lemons. Stir and let sit for 5 minutes, then gently stir in the vanilla.

Stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Pour in the milk/lemon mixture, stirring gently. When it's halfway mixed together, stir in the eggs, then the melted butter. Finally, stir in the lemon zest. (If the batter is overly thick at this stage, add up to 1/4 cup milk.

Heat an iron skillet over medium heat, then add 2 tablespoons butter. When it's melted, drop in 1/4 cup helpings of batter, smoothing the top to help spread it into an even layer. Cook until golden and sizzly around the edges, then turn to the other side and finish cooking. Remove and repeat with the rest of the batter.

Serve with butter, syrup, and extra lemon zest. (Can turn this into more of a dessert with a powdered sugar glaze and/or whipped cream!)

We tried our best, but once Lapidot hit 30 000, it was game over. Next year, guys!

And I come bearing tasty gifts.

Lemon Rosemary Scones

PREP TIME:
20 Minutes
COOK TIME:
18 Minutes
SERVINGS:
24 Servings

INGREDIENTS

SCONES
3 cups All-purpose Flour
2/3 cups Sugar
5 teaspoons Baking Powder
1/4 teaspoon Salt
2 sticks (1/2 Pound) Unsalted Butter, Chilled And Cut Into Pieces
1 whole Large Egg
1 cup Heavy Cream
1 Tablespoon Finely Minced Fresh Rosemary
Zest Of 1 Lemon

GLAZE
5 cups Powdered Sugar, Sifted
1/2 cup Whole Milk, More If Needed For Thinning
Zest And Juice From 1 Lemon
1 teaspoon Finely Minced Fresh Rosemary
Dash Of Salt

INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Mix cream with egg, lemon zest and rosemary and allow to sit for 10 to 15 minutes to steep.

Use a pastry cutter or two knives to cut the butter pieces into the flour. Keep going until mixture resembles crumbs. Mix wet mixture with flour mixture; stir gently with a fork until combined. Mix should be crumbly, but if it's too crumbly to work with, splash in a small amount of heavy cream.

Turn dough onto a floured surface and lightly press it together until it forms a rough rectangle. Use a rolling pin to roll into a rectangle about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch thick. Use your hands to help with the forming if necessary. Final rectangle should be about 18 inches by about 10 inches.

Use a knife to trim into a symmetrical rectangle, then cut the rectangle into 12 symmetrical squares/rectangles. Next, cut each square/rectangle in half diagonally, to form smaller triangles.

Transfer to a parchment or baking mat-lined cookie sheet and bake for 18 minutes, removing from the oven just before they start to turn golden. Allow to cool for 15 minutes on the cookie sheet, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.

GLAZE

To make the icing, add lemon zest, lemon juice and rosemary into milk; allow to sit for awhile. Mix powdered sugar with the milk, adding more powdered sugar or milk if necessary to get the consistency the right thickness. Stir or whisk until completely smooth.

One at a time, carefully dunk each cooled scone in the glaze, turning it over if necessary. Transfer to parchment paper or the cooling rack. Allow the glaze to set completely, about an hour. Scones will keep several days if glazed.
